trains depart from Akron, the Village of Peninsula, and Independence

Five Oaks Historic Home

Spring Hill is the 1820s rural home of Thomas and Charity Rotch, complete with furnishings of the Rotch and Wales families who lived there. The Merino sheep farm was the site of a vocational school and a station on the Underground Railroad. Outdoor tours include a springhouse, smokehouse, woolhouse and milkhouse. Sheep, vintage gardens, carriages and a nature path add to the country charm. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday 1 - 4 p.m. Closed in winter.
